MouseLaunch – Rapidly Launch Programs Using the Mouse
Applications can be launched in various ways. You could set it up so that the application automatically launch at Windows startup – I did that with my TV tuner, so each time I boot up my computer, the TV automatically launches. You could launch an application from the Run command – I always do that when I need to launch the Windows calculator. Or you could click a desktop or Quick Launch shortcut.
But if you turn to software and get the right piece of software, you could launch applications in a very interesting way: by clicking both mouse buttons (right and left click). The application that allows you to do this is the aptly named MouseLaunch.
Here is how things work with MouseLaunch:
- Hold down the left and the right click mouse buttons
- Select the application/file you want to launch from the panel that appears.
There are four sections in the panel that appears: left, center, right, and Shift). You can switch from one panel to another by clicking the left or right button and by clicking the Shift key on your keyboard. There’s a small indicator in the middle of the panel telling you where you are. You can put any application or file in these panels – you can easily do so by dragging and dropping the shortcut of the file/application you want to add to the panel.
After you launch an application from MouseLaunch’s panel, said panel automatically hides out of view.
Before you go get MouseLaunch and put it to the test, take a look at the following details:
Download – the download weighs in at 672KB, which is quite lightweight. The download, even on a less than spectacular internet connection, will complete in no time at all.
Installation – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, MouseLaunch provides support for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. During the installation process you are asked if you want a desktop and/or a Quick Launch icon.
Limitations – in the trial version, only 8 files in the center panel will be maintained.
MouseLaunch is an incredibly easy to use application that allows you to easily and rapidly launch applications and files.
